(( Just something quick we wrangled up for a 1000 Followers Post, and a good way for me to warm up and get back into the swing of things after surgery! ))
(( I honestly never thought I’d get this far. It’s been…what, 6, 7 months since I started this tumblr? I’ve had Wild Card since the fandom pretty much started , and he’s become one of my favorite characters that I’ve created. Honestly, I never imagined anybody else would give a shit about him and the roguish adventures he stumbles into—and I still don’t think so—but I’m glad I’m entertaining people to even the smallest degree! I thrive on your attention. I am an actor. :[ ))
(( In any case, you guys are the best Followers ever. So supportive and awesome, and having all these amazing people following me is a bit overwhelming sometimes. I don’t care if you’re a top notch artist or just a reblogger : you’ve really made me feel like I’m doing something worthwhile ( at least recreationally ). Really, it’s you guys that have helped me develop this character and the blog so much to become something somewhat tolerable. I owe you all everything! You artists ( like Autumn, Sweet Cream, Fortunate Cookie, and Pippa ) who have helped me with updates deserve special mention, and Captain Aquilinus for inspiring me to start a tumblr. ))

I don’t mind the fact that Veggie made an art tutorial. Sure I don’t think his methods are the most efficient (I guess use what works?), but I also think one unforseen result was how many people have used it to instead trace artwork from the show.
And before people try to defend it, tracing doesn’t teach you any more about anatomy than reference studying— referencing or using your own sketches to make lineart teaches you both anatomy AND drawing habits/skills. Tracing should be kept to vectors, which in that case, accuracy is more important than artistic flow and whatnot.
Only thing you should trace is your own art, and even then it’s more often called ‘inking’.
